Suwon Cultural Foundation

The Suwon City Council is recruiting foreign nationals to serve as evaluators for the 56th Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival.

01. Festival Overview

1. Festival Title: The 56th Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival
2. Festival Period: October 3 (Thu) ~ October 6 (Sun), 2019
3. Festival Venue: Venues across the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress area, including Suwon Hwaseong Temporary Palace, Jangan Park, Hwahongmun Gate, Yeonmudae, etc.
4. Host/Supervision: Suwon City Council/Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival Commission, Suwon Cultural Foundation
5. Key Events: Opening ceremony, Crown Princess Hong’s Jinchanyeon “Hanjungnok 1795,” King Jeongjo Tomb Parade Reenactment, closing ceremony “Yajo,” etc.

02. Recruitment Requirements

1. No. of Required Evaluators: 2 persons (foreign nationals)
   ※ If the Festival fails to secure enough evaluators for each category, the City Council may adjust the number of foreign nationals recruited as evaluators
2. Eligibility Requirements
   Candidate must be a foreign national residing in Korea, minimum age of 18 (no specific nationality restrictions)
   Candidate must have strong interest in culture, tourism, and festivals
   Candidate must be available to participate in Festival-related activities full-time
   Candidates with previous experience on monitoring panels, support groups, will be given preferential treatment

03. Activities and Benefits

1. Term: October 3 (Thu) ~ October 6 (Sun), 2019 - 4 days
2. Activity Details
   All evaluators must attend a mandatory orientation program (September 21 (Sat), between 10:00 and 12:00)
   All evaluators must submit final reports containing their evaluation of the Festival
   All evaluators must attend an evaluation conference after the conclusion of the festival (in November (weekday))
3. Benefits
   Stipend: Maximum KRW 360,000/person
   ※ Exact stipend amount will differ depending on the final report and activities carried out by each evaluator. Any evaluator who fails to submit his/her final report by the due date and/or the final report is severely lacking in quality with regards to its content, the stipend shall not be paid in such a case.
   Evaluators can request a certificate of service as an evaluator (issued only on request).

1. Application Period: August 1 (Thu) ~ August 22 (Thu), 2019
2. Application Method: Download and complete the application form from the Suwon Cultural Foundation or Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival website, then submit via e-mail (please attach all documents referenced in your application)
