Introduction of Work

Virtues of community learned from balance and collaboration of circus
The response to climate change and crises is an issue that goes beyond specific individuals, regions, or states (countries). It belongs to the responsibility of every individual and state (country) on earth. The same way the breathtaking art of a circus is completed only when  each performer successfully finishes the assigned roles, balance and collaboration, the response to the climate crisis requires an attitude of cooperation and faithful fulfillment of roles related to their respective positions. Like a circus where the performers are required to try with perseverance and make an effort together despite repetitive falling and failure, shouldn’t we respond to the climate crisis in the same way?

Introduction of Group

'Contemporary Experimental Arts Research Group, Green Cow' was founded by artist Sungtaek-Jeong who had completed the training course of the street artists (Street Art Next) at Seoul Street Arts Creation Center. As an experimental art research group paying attention to the social roles and responsibilities of artists, Contemporary Experimental Arts Research Group, Green Cow carries out the mission of exposing a variety of contemporary issues through art in collaboration with artists from diverse genres. In addition, the institution focuses on contemporary creative experiments by way of expressions and delivery of messages that go beyond the limited boundary of a specific genre. Contemporary Experimental Arts Research Group, Green Cow’s most representative works include '28 trillion tons,' which expresses our unconsciousness and indifference to climate using a metaphor of glaciers, 'Tipping Point,' a kind of memorial performance and funeral for glaciers that had already died (melted), and 'Work together or Die together' which aimed to emphasize and convey the importance of community practice to respond to climate crisis using papers.
