Introduction of Work

Artistic balance between nature and humans
Suwon Tapdong Citizen's Farm has long been used as an experimental farm affiliated with College of Agriculture and Life Sciences of Seoul National University. Here, countless animals have been raised and slaughtered, and they have been provided as an effective protein source for humans through constant experiments. It is proven that nature destroyed by humans is attributable to the environmental crisis and the outbreak of viruses. Is it correct to say that artificial distortions and modifications of animals that are part of nature are permitted to humans? This work based on installation and performance intends to seek an artistic balance to live with nature in a peaceful manner.

Introduction of Group

'Baram Company' has been carrying out art activities in the form of generating meaning by transforming private and personal experiences into the one-to-one or one-to-multiple contact with the audience on the streets. The institution explores what kind of meaning the performances can bring to the spaces other than the theaters. In addition, the institution makes an effort to seek and create the meaning of performing arts in life and society by asking questions about daily experiences such as housing issues, romance, female bodies, labor, animal rights, and the position of minorities. Baram Company is greatly interested in a safe creative environment and creative methods in pursuit of sustainability. The artists continue to conduct activities maintaining a repertoire style focused on steady exploration, performace and development of a single topic, rather than just a one-time work.
