유난히 더웠던 긴 여름이 가고 가을의 선선한 바람이 코끝을 스칠 때 쯤, 바로 이때가 수원화성을 관람하기 가장 좋은 시기다. 수원화성을 둘러싸고 있는 수많은 나무들이 화려한 색으로 옷을 갈아입고 서북각루 앞의 갈대들이 서로 스치며 가을이 오는 소리를 알리면, 더위에 지쳤던 사람들이 하나둘 밖으로 나와 가을의 풍경을 맞이한다. 수원화성에서 풍경을 감상하는 방법은 여러 가지이다. 두 다리를 이용하여 걷는 방법, 혹은 다양한 탈거리를 이용하는 방법!

Leaving behind the unusually, long hot summer days, fall is coming with its fresh breeze lightly touching our nostrils. We consider this as the best season for touring Suwon Hwaseong Fortress. Myriads of trees surrounding the fortress will soon burst into diverse colors, and the reeds at Seobuknu Pavilion will touch each other, thereby signaling the coming of fall. During this time, many people who are tired from the sweltering heat of the summer will come out to welcome the autumn foliage. Here are several ways to view the breathtaking sceneries of Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, such as walking on foot and riding different kinds of vehicles

헬륨기구 위에서 바라본 수원 야경

계류식 헬륨기구 ‘플라잉 수원’

‘연무대에 커다란 달이 떴다!’ 8월 10일 론칭 후, 여전히 SNS를 뜨겁게 달구고 있는 ‘커다란 달’은 바로 계류식 헬륨기구인 ‘플라잉 수원’이다. 계류식 헬륨기구란 ‘유랑하지 않고 일정한 장소에서 운영되는 헬륨을 이용한 기구’로 헬륨 특성상 가볍지만 폭발성이 없어 안전하다. 높이 32m 폭 22m의 규모로 최대 20명을 수용할 수 있는 ‘플라잉 수원’은 70~80m, 최대 150m까지 올라 갈 수 있다고 한다. 이로써 서장대, 노을빛 전망대와 더불어 수원화성 전체를 조망할 수 있는 또 다른 수원화성의 ‘핫플레이스’ 가 생겼다. 특히, 길게 뻗어있는 수원화성의 화려한 불빛을 볼 수 있는 야경은 놓치지 말도록.

Tethered Helium-Filled Balloon Flying Suwon

The social media is hot with the news: On August 10, a big moon was seen rising over Yeonmudae Command Post. Flying Suwon, a nickname given to this helium-fi lled balloon, is still trending in the social media. The heliumfi lled balloon is lightweight and it moves within a certain boundary. It is also incombustible, thereby making it safe to use. The balloon is 32m high and 22m wide, and it can carry up to 20 people. Flying Suwon can fl y a usual height of 70~80m and a maximum height of 150m. From on board the balloon, you can overlook Seojangdae Post, the sunset-tinged observatory,
and the entire Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, thus creating yet another sightseeing attraction for the fortress. The awesome fortress night scene glittering with lights is also not to be issed.

2012 생태교통페스티벌에서 운영되었던 벨로택시 Ⓒ 수원시

전기 자전거 택시 ‘벨로택시’

유럽 관광지에서나 볼법한 자전거 택시를 이젠 수원화성에서도 이용 할 수 있다고 한다. 2012년 행궁동에서 펼쳐진 ‘수원생태교통페스티벌’에서도 한시적으로 운영된 이 ‘벨로택시’는 당시에도 가장 인기 있던 탈거리 중 하나였다. 벨로택시는 10~15㎞의 빠르지 않은 속도로 운행된다. 그리고 한 차당 2명밖에 탈 수 없다. 그럼에도 불구하고 벨로택시의 가장 큰 장점은 바로 이러한 ‘느리고 작음’에 있다. 느리기 때문에 편하고 여유롭게 풍경을 감상할 수 있고 작기 때문에 운전기사로 부터 수원화성에 대한 소소한 이야기들을 직접 들을 수도 있다.

Velo Taxi: Motorized Bike Taxi Service

The Velo taxi, which is a motorized bike taxi often seen in European tourist sites, is now available at Suwon Hwaseong Fortress. It was once briefly operated at Suwon Eco-Transport Festival held in Haenggungdong in 2012, and it became one of the most popular rides back then. The Velo taxi runs at a steady speed of 10~15km per hour.
Furthermore, the vehicle can accommodate up to 2 passengers and it boasts of its small features. This allows the rider to leisurely and comfortably view the scenes and hear the amusing stories of Suwon from the taxi driver.

Fees Free of charge only during the promotion period (payment service will begin in 2017)

자전거 대여 ‘반디클’

수원화성 일대는 자전거를 타고 둘러보기 좋은 장소이다. 세계문화유산으로 지정된 ‘수원화성’도 아름답지만 그런 수원화성이 둘러싸고 있는 마을 ‘행궁동’도 다양한 매력이 존재하는 공간이다. 그렇기 때문에 자전거를 타고 성을 한바퀴 돌고나서는 골목구석구석을 누빌 것을 추천한다. 이야기가 있는 아름다운 벽화들과 아기자기한 낮은 집들, 정감 있는 마을사람들이 반겨줄 것이다. 매달 마지막 주 토요일은 행궁동(신풍 · 장안동) 내에서 차 없는 거리가 운영이 되니 참고하시길.

Bandicle: Public Bicycle Rental Service

Suwon Hwaseong Fortress is an ideal tourist site for taking a trip on a bike ride. The World Cultural Heritage Suwon Hwaseong Fortress is beautiful, while Haenggung-dong, which is a village surrounded by this fortress, offers diverse sightseeing attractions.
Take a bike tour around the area and weave through every nook and corner. Wall paintings with amusing stories, humble and neighboring low houses, and kind villagers will welcome you. Every last Saturday of the month offers a vehicle-free street in Haenggung-dong (Sinpung and Jangan-dong).

Feature - Available are child bikes, adult bikes, adult bikes equipped with a baby seater, and tandem bikes.
- Bikes should be returned to the specific rental area where you rented the bike until the system is perfectly in place.

키즈카 · 나인봇 · 전동퀵보드 ‘알라파크’

퍼스널 모빌리티’라고 불리는 개인용 이동수단이 이슈이다. 전동퀵보드 · 나인봇 · 세그웨이 등 그 이름도 종류도 다양하다. 최근 화성행궁 공방길 초입에 이러한 ‘퍼스널 모빌리티’를 체험할 수 있는 대여점이 생겼다. 이곳에서는 나인봇과 아이드라이브(전동퀵보드)를 대여하고 있는데, 색다른 체험을 좋아하는 젊은 사람들 사이에서 인기이다. 초보들도 간단한 교육을 통해 쉽게 체험할 수 있으며, 유아를 위한 키즈카도 대여중이다. 이용할 때는 함께 대여해 주는 안전모를 꼭 착용하고 주변을 잘 살피며 안전하게 이용해야 한다. 작동이 익숙한 사람은 1시간 정도 대여를 해 수원화성 일대를 둘러보는 것도 즐거운 추억이 될 것 같다.

Kids Car, Ninebot, and Motorized Kickboard at Alapark

Personal mobility modes are now a big issue. They come in various names, such as motorized kickboard, Ninebot, and Segway, among others. The entrance of Hwaseong Haenggung Workshop Street offers such personal mobility mode rental services. They rent out Ninebot and I-Drive (motorized kickboard), which are popular among curious and adventurous youth. Beginners can use the services after a simple training class, and kids' cars are also available for rental. During using them, people must wear safety cap and watch out for other people or cars.
Skilled riders can tour Suwon Hwaseong area within a 1-hour rented ride, thereby giving them memorable moments.
