    With the theme of the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage, the World Heritage Festival Suwon Hwaseong is the venue for finding performances, experience, and education programs and exhibitions featuring the honorable values of artisans who were employed for the construction of the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, the joy and sorrow of the people of the Joseon Dynasty, and King Jeongjo’s devoted heart to the people. Feel the aesthetic values of Suwon Hwaseong Fortress as a world heritage through colorful programs

A blend of traditional music and modern performance with the theme of the past and the future showing a formless fortification is built with recollections of all who cherish the values of the world heritage of the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress

Stage 1. "The Memory of Wind," an elegant, majestic performance by Gyeonggi Sinawi Orchestra, "Fortification of Passion," a powerful street dance performance

Stage 2. "From the Past to the Future," a beautiful visual and auditory performance by an orchestra, "Circulation of Memory," a performance crossing over Korean traditional music, art rock, and pop

Stage 3. "Light of Wish," a traditional dance performance by Jang Jeong-hui Dance Company, "Beautiful Nation," a touching chorus sung together by Suwon citizens

Stage 4. Fusion of the present and the past, "Hee-moon Lee," a medley of Gyeonggi folksongs

Program Overview

A program where you can experience the techniques of artisans and become one as you learn about the hidden artisans behind the fortification of the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress recorded in Hwaseong Seongyeok Uigwe (Records of Hwaseong Fortress Construction)

① Hwagong (dancheongjang): 5 times a day; an experience of pounding powder paint based on traditional materials and methods (paid)

② Jogakjang: 5 times a day; an experience of a scratch board to make the objet of the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress

③ Gakja: visitor's experience of recording one's name and wishes on gakja

④ Seoksu/chajang: an experience of hauling a wagon (chajang) and stacking stones (seoksu)

⑤ Jijang: an experience of putting on artisan-concept paper doll mask and performance

⑥ Byeongpungjang: an experience of making a large folding screen and paper folding experience

Program Overview

"Time Warp B," a bamboo structure installed with the motif of Seobuk Gongsimdon (northwest observation tower), provides the archiving exhibition about the past 227 years and the present of the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress after its fortification and the campaign and experience programs about climate change and the environment with the theme of the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress that will be left to the future generations.
