Humans who suffer and become isolated due to rapid changes
In front of various questions about concerns in life, Nietzsche answered, "Happiness hardly comes to the one who only wishes for comfort, and there is nothing more beautiful than living in danger.“ Life approaches us as beauty in the process of overcoming the present full of anxiety and anguish. By substituting the positive meaning of humans who try to achieve self-overcoming through their own will with the image of modern people, the group reconsiders the power of human will and the consequent freedom.

Introduction of Group
'Melancholy Dance Company' founded in 2016 by choreographer Cheolin, Jeong has been creating works that regard the world we live in as art. The group expresses insights into human affairs under the themes of human life such as 'Flight,' 'Og,' 'Übermensch ,' 'Your symptoms' and 'Mobility.' The Company aims to manifest the attainment of the future and the ideal by expanding of body languages and overcoming limitations through art, while faithfully embracing melancholic emotions of the contemporary time.
