  사아아 흔들리는 무성한 풀과 나무
  습기를 머금은 공기 속에 고요히 침잠하는 숲
  초록보다 더 짙은 색의 그림자
  
  비가 갠 순간 물웅덩이에 비친 하늘
  렌즈를 닦아낸 듯 선명히 빛나는 파란색과 흰 구름
  작렬하는 햇볕 아래 생동하는 꽃과 잎의 색채들
  흙과 풀 위에 햇볕과 그림자로 수놓아진 모자이크
  
  시시각각 변화하는 가지각색 초록의 순간들.
  
  김현수 작가가 담아낸 풍경은 일견 도형과 면들로 이루어진 녹색 조각모음처럼 보인다. 그러나 화면을 천천히 들여다보면 면과 도형 하나하나에 깃든 각기 다른 장면들이 드러난다.
  강렬했지만 어느덧 어렴풋해진 기억 속 형태와 질감은 합쳐지고 덧씌워지며 추상적인 모양과 터치로 재조형 되었을지라도, 이를 구성하고 있는 색채는 무척이나 구체적인 순간을 잡아챈다. 면과 선을 이루는 색상은 어느 날의 시간, 밝기, 온도, 공기의 질감 그리고 그 장면 속 서 있었던 '나'의 기분까지도 반추하게 한다.
  구석구석 들여다볼수록 기억 속 어디에선가 발견하게 되는 장면. 우리는 김현수 작가의 작업을 통해 이토록 사적이고 선명한 풍경을 다시 만난다.
  
  ‘Such Vivid Traces’
  
  Grasses and trees rustle softly in the wind.
  A forest settles into the stillness of moisture-laden air.
  Shadows deepen beyond the color of green.
  
  After the rain, the sky gathers in a puddle.
  Blue skies and white clouds emerge with the clarity of a lens freshly wiped clean.
  Flowers and leaves glow beneath the blazing sun.
  Across the earth and grass, sunlight and shadow weave a quiet mosaic.
  
  Countless shades of green, shifting from one fleeting moment to the next.
  
  At first glance, Kim Hyunsoo's landscapes appear as compositions of green-an arrangement of planes, shapes, and geometric forms. Yet the longer we linger before them, the more each surface begins to reveal a distinct scene of its own.
  The forms and textures preserved in memory-once vivid, now softened by time-may have merged and layered into abstract forms and gestures. Yet the colors continue to hold fast to a singular moment: the hour of the day, the quality of light, the warmth of the air, its lingering humidity, and even the emotions of the one who once stood there.
  The more closely we look, the more these paintings reveal scenes that seem to emerge from somewhere deep within our memories. Through Kim Hyunsoo's work, we find ourselves reunited with landscapes that are at once deeply personal and strikingly clear.
