A night-time visiting program to Hwaseong Temporary Palace(Hwaseong Haenggung), ‘Haenggung Yasa’, will get under way from October 7 to 9 during the 53rd Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival.
Haenggung Yasa is a special program that will allow participants to walk around Hwaseong and enjoy the palace’s beauty during the night. Participants will also be able to experience various historical features characteristic of the reign of King Jeongjo the Great.
The program will offer two courses. Course 1 will feature a view of the nightscape at Hwaseong Temporary Palace(Hwaseong Haenggung), a historical theater play, and a professionally guided tour along Hwaryeong-jeon and the gardens of Hwaseong Haenggung. Meanwhile, course 2 will involve theater plays, traditional performances, and traditional light refreshments where participants can join in the programs themselves.
Course 1 will open Hwaryeong-jeon (a shrine for King Jeongjo’s royal portrait) which is usually closed during the night. This will help offer visitors a unique historical experience.
Haenggung Yasa will continue for three days between October 7 and 9, which coincides with the 53rd Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival. Visitors will be admitted twice a day, at 7:30pm and 9:00pm. Tickets are KRW 20,000 per person and visitors can purchase their tickets online at Interpark Ticket’s website (http://ticket.interpark.com) from September 12 while stocks last. |
