Education and onsite experience programs on Korean traditional cuisine and traditional manners are being run at “Suwon Center for Traditional Culture” located near Janganmun Gate of Suwon Hwaseong Fortress. Aside from the traditional foods handed down from past times, one can learn how to cook the royal foods that were enjoyed by kings from the Joseon Dynasty, and related education sessions about Korean tea ceremony, bows and handicrafts (Gyubang craft) are also available. Various exhibitions and events related to the New Year’s holidays, Dano festival and Chuseok holidays, and traditional weddings are to be held at the Suwon Center for Traditional Culture . For those who want to participate, please send your inquiry to the Suwon Cultural Foundation via e-mails. ​

Traditional dietary life one-day program

  • Contents: Cooking traditional foods or traditional snacks
  • Fee: KRW 25,000 per person
  • Duration: 1 session (3 hours)/ open for groups only (20 people per class max)

Traditional etiquette one day program

  • Contents: Wearing Hanbok, Korean traditional salutation, Korean tea ceremony, Tea Confectionery , etc.
  • Fee: KRW 5,000 per person
  • Duration: 1 session (2 hours)/ open for groups only (15 to 25 people per class max)

Event Program

  • Contents: Seasonal customs-buksaetong(Confusion), Traditional marriage, Special exhibitions, Traditional cultural performances, etc.
  • Fee: free (some costs may be incurred depending on the type of program)
