The Suwon Traditional Culture Center is hosting events featuring seasonal customs to celebrate Chuseok, Korea’s biggest traditional holiday. It is the most significant traditional holiday from all the holidays across the year where families gather together to offer freshly harvested grains and fruits to their ancestors and share the food afterward. Throughout history, Chuseok has been an important holiday. Families made Songpyeon (rice cakes), ate newly harvested chestnuts, and did a dance known as the Ganggangsullae. To celebrate Chuseok, the Suwon Traditional Culture Center offers a variety of events and activities. People can make insect models with straws, make chestnut baskets, or try traditional tea.
