The “Sensory School,” hosted by the Suwon SK Artrium, is an on-stage culture and art program that stimulates the artistic senses of toddlers and young children. It features training programs for a variety of performing arts genres, including dance, theater, and musicals. It also offers unique classes to give children a taste of what it feels like to be on stage.
A couple of the most notable programs at the Sensory School are its “musical” and “theater” classes for elementary school students. Aimed at children in grades four to five, the musical class invites children to explore their dreams and talents with the popular musical “Wicked” under the leadership of actors currently performing in a number of plays and musicals. Meanwhile, the theater program designed for children between grades one and two takes children back in time to the Joseon Dynasty with a time machine. There, children can meet historical figures, learn some history, and join a short play.
Sensory School also has a theater program and “move your body game” program for children aged six to seven. With the theater program, children can enter an imaginary world and meet the white rabbit with the watch and the mad hatter from “Alice in Wonderland,” which helps stimulate cognitive functions and promotes creative thinking. The “move your body game” is a library program that stimulates the imagination of children with fairy tales selected with a childhood developmental expert.
If you are interested in participating in any of the programs, please apply online at the Suwon SK Artrium website starting August 14 (Wed).
