Title Suwon Traditional Culture Center to host the “Day in the Life of a Crown Prince” winter exhibition facebooktwitter
Writer 수원문화재단 Date 2019.12.20 Visit 698

Throughout this entire winter school holiday season, the Suwon Traditional Culture Center will host the “Day in the Life of a Crown Prince” winter exhibition until March 1.
This exhibition is designed to give visitors a glimpse into a typical day of a Crown Prince during the Joseon Dynasty with some of the academic programs he would have sat through every day. Kings and their court officials invested significant time and effort in educating each Crown Prince, as they were the ones expected to lead the kingdom one day. In addition to studying diligently at Seogangwon, a Crown Prince was expected to be a pious son, visiting the King and Queen every day and making sure their meals were perfect. The daily life of a Crown Prince during the Joseon Dynasty, guided by the desire to learn and to love his family, can still inspire people today.
Inside the exhibition hall, visitors can try on the dark blue Gonryongpo robe of a Crown Prince, and take photos at the permanent photo zone exhibit that looks similar to the study of a Crown Prince. Suwon Traditional Culture Center expects the exhibition to be a huge success, particularly among children visiting the Center during their winter holidays. It’s a great chance to become a Crown Prince and make some great memories.
