Seulgisaem Children’s Library is hosting a public exhibition of Kim Hwan-yong's picture books and original illustrations “Life: Small and Sacred” until January 30 next year. Kim Hwan-yong is best known for “Leafie: A Hen into the Wild.”
The exhibition of Kim Hwan-yong's picture books and original illustrations was designed to raise public awareness of picture books and to help the public understand the creative process behind the production of picture books with close-up access to the original drawings that showcase Kim's artistry. More specifically, the exhibition will feature 40 original paintings, including Kim Hwan-yong's signature works, as well as some of his picture books, explanatory notes on Kim’s work, and production notes containing the production process for Kim’s picture books.
With this exhibition, Suwon hopes to give children and other visitors a chance to understand the creativity behind Kim Hwan-yong’s original illustrations and feel a lot more familiar with picture books in the future.
